“We were so happy we decided to hire Nicole as our doula. She really tuned into my fears regarding needles and made sure it was well captured on my birth plan to ensure the hospital staff were well informed. Even though I had taken prenatal classes the pre birth sessions with Nicole were very informative and helped prepare me for what to expect in the hospital so I could make informed decisions. Nicole was amazing and helped me achieve a vaginal birth with no pain medication through the use of her tens machine, working with her hands to lessen the pain, encouragement and being there with things I did not know I needed in order to persevere through my long labour. The doctors at the hospital kept making me feel as if I should have already pushed my baby out which was hard on me mentally, but Nicole was always there with words of encouragement to trust my body. Nicole also helped me with breastfeeding during a post-partum visit as I was still struggling after I came home from the hospital. “Having Nicole as part of our team for the birth of our first child was the best decision we made. During our 3 at-home sessions, Nicole came prepared with detailed presentations and educated us on a variety of topics. Nicole is absolutely amazing, and we can't recommend her enough as a birth and postpartum doula! From our very first session through the postpartum period, she provided exceptional support that made our birth journey much more manageable and meaningful.

She has the ability to be both professional and highly knowledgeable while still being personable and easy to talk to. No question was ever too small – she was always just a text away, ready to walk us through anything we were unsure about. She helped us feel so prepared by talking through all the possible scenarios of birth, which turned out to be a lifesaver when we ended up needing an emergency C-section. Her calm and supportive presence was absolutely essential for both my husband and I, and she stayed by our side, helping us understand what was happening and ensuring we felt supported every step of the way. We honestly can't imagine having gone through it without her.

Throughout the whole pregnancy, she was our go-to person for everything. Whether we needed solid, research-backed information or just someone to listen and understand what we were feeling, she was there. She has this amazing gift of making you feel completely heard and supported, while also giving practical advice when you need it.

She truly was our biggest support person. What we really appreciated was how she never tried to push us in any particular direction – instead, she helped us understand all our options and supported whatever decisions we made. We'd choose her again in a heartbeat for our next baby.

I am so grateful for Nicole's support during my first pregnancy and birth. She provided birth doula and postpartum services for me and I took part in her birth classes through Birth by Bloom.

I chose Nicole to be our doula because she is very cool, calm and relaxed. I needed someone to ground me as I can be anxious and overly excited at times. She was great during the preparation meetings up until our last postpartum visit. She helped me achieve a no intervention birth with no medications (not even IV). She was available by phone and to come to our home before we went to the hospital but we decided to meet her at the hospital as I felt fine on my own at home. Thanks to her support all I had to do once I got to the hospital was focus on breathing and anticipate seeing my baby! She had everything prepared and was so professional and calm.This led to a very positive and empowering birth experience. She followed my birth plan and everything honestly went as good as it possibly could. I felt so safe and supported, she made me feel comfortable and did all the things I needed and more without having to ask and did not make me feel embarrassed or insecure at all. I did not have to spend much time labouring at the hospital (just over 1 hour) and I think the calmness of her and my team helped my body progress quickly and smoothly at the hospital. She stayed after the birth to support me with eating, stitching and breastfeeding. She gave us our space at the perfect time so we could get some family bonding and rest time. As an added bonus she took amazing tasteful birth photos that I absolutely cherish!!!

It’s hard to put in so few words how much it meant to us to have Nicole as our doula.

Nicole was an absolute lifesaver during my birth experience. From our prenatal visits, she provided invaluable information and support, helping us create a detailed birth plan and guiding us through pregnancy symptoms. When I was diagnosed with cholestasis and had to be induced early, Nicole met us at the hospital, offering information on induction and her TENS machine. She was crucial in helping us avoid unnecessary interventions, and I truly believe her guidance prevented a C-section.

Throughout my labor, Nicole was by me and my partners side, offering physical support, pain relief techniques, and helping us advocate for ourselves when the OB was pushing for faster interventions. With her help, I was able to deliver after only 40 minutes of pushing with minimal tearing.

Even postpartum, Nicole has continued to be an incredible source of support, answering questions and helping with our baby’s first bath. Her knowledge, non-judgmental approach, and evidence-based advice made her an essential part of our birth experience. “Nicole is amazing. It does not surprise me by any means that she has such raving reviews. My doula had a personal emergency and Nicole stepped in as a back up. Right as she walked in, we were rushing to leave our planned home birth to go to the hospital. Nicole jumped in, finding my list in my kitchen of the supplies I wanted to take to the hospital and helping my partner get things together. She independently submerged herself in the hectic experience and was immediately a helpful hand and advocate of my agency. My birth progressed to a much more traumatic experience. Every step of the way, through enduring painful circumstances, Nicole was there. She was the continuity my partner and I were blessed to have. Nicole was peace in a thunderstorm. Having Nicole as our doula was one of the best decisions we've made and one we highly recommend to anyone starting their birthing journey. At first we weren't sure if a doula was necessary but decided to go with one as our families live in other provinces and we were hoping for guidance and support. We are so happy with the decision. Nicole provided private pre-natal education sessions with tailored educational resources (that we found matched our learning style and interests better than our prenatal class with another doula) that helped us make decisions about our birth preferences and feel more prepared. Throughout the birth she provided guidance to the birther and birth partner. She moved intuitively and discretely, being exactly where she was needed before we even expressed the need. Our labour progressed quickly and without Nicole it would have been scary but she provided reassurance and as a result we had a birth experience that, while very different from what we envisioned, was perfect. Nicole was available after the birth for post-natal visits and provided helpful baby product recommendations when we mentioned things we were having trouble with (e.g., cutting nails, sun protection). Nicole was easy to feel comfortable around. From a business perspective, Nicole was super organized and responsive. Thanks for everything, Nicole!

“Nicole has been vital and fundamental part of my birth team and pregnancy journey. As first-time parents, my partner and I really valued how Nicole took over a stressful situation during my early labor and converted it into most memorable and smooth process for me. Having Nicole along with me on the journey was amazing, and all the knowledge and guidance she provided helped me to really advocate for myself in actively shaping the kind of birth I always wanted to have. I had a situation where midwife had recommended labor induction, which was not as per birth plan. I had a number of unexpected bumps along the way, and I felt supported and informed to make the best possible decisions for myself and my baby. Her prenatal appointments offered a lot of information in a relaxed setting and gave us the space to ask questions, and she helped us to create a birth plan. Nicole was an amazing support during labour and birth; she did everything from accupressure on my feet during contractions, keeping us hydrated, to helping us leave the house with everything we needed when I started pushing at home and wanted to get to the hospital.
